Glossary → Market share
The portion of total sales in a market that one company captures, a core measure of competitive standing.
Market share is the percentage of a market that one company holds, by revenue, units or customers. It is one of the clearest measures of competitive position, because it is relative: your share goes up only if someone else's goes down.
Because it is relative, market share is a competitive metric first. Watching how rivals price, launch and position is the early read on which way share is about to move, long before it shows up in a report.
RivalDesk monitors those leading signals across your competitors, so you see the moves that shift share while you can still respond to them.
RivalDesk puts a team of AI analysts on your competitors so the concepts in this glossary become a weekly briefing, not a research project.
